The Pink Drink

Late Summer is the hottest time of the year but it doesn't have to be miserable, some of my favorite childhood memories are of late summer evenings after coming home from school grabbing a cold glass of the pink drink and sitting out on the porch under the fan of course doing my homework. Mama always made sure we had after school snacks and drinks around the house so that we would have a special treat after being gone to school all day but I think my favorite was this special pink drink. Turns out its a pretty special Southern thing too y'all!

Pink Lemonade or The Pink Drink as I so fondly call it is still one of my favorite hot day drinks to enjoy by the pool, on the beach, on the porch, or in the evening watching the sunset it's a fabulous way to beat the heat and enjoy something a bit tangy but still sweet. Grab a spoon and a Pitcher and let stir up something so good, your family will thank you for it.

The Pink Drink

2 cups sugar
2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 cup cranberry juice (this controls your color too)
9 cups (or so) water
ice as needed

Stir your sugar, lemon juice, and cranberry juice together until sugar is dissolved add water to fill a gallon pitcher. Chill and serve with ice or as is, on a hot day or just because.

Enjoy Y’all!
